What To Wear To A Yoga Festival

What to wear to a yoga festival

Yoga festivals are an amazing way to meet like-minded people and get some needed rejuvenation. But, if you’ve never been to one, what do you wear? You might know what you would wear to a yoga class, but a multiple day festival is another ballgame. In this blog post, I’ll give some suggestions for what to wear to a yoga festival.

10 Clothing Items To Bring To A Yoga Festival

Before we get into the list, remember to check the itinerary for the yoga fest you’re going to. This will help you plan out what clothing you should bring. That being said, let’s get into the recommendations:

  1. White Clothing – This might sound like a weird one, but you won’t regret it. Many of these yoga events host nighttime dance parties with black lights, and white clothing will make you glow under the black lights, adding to the fun atmosphere.
  2. Fanny Packs/Backpacks – You don’t want to spend the entire time holding your purse, so taking a fanny pack or backpack is perfect. It leaves your hands free for dancing, shopping at the vendor markets, and participating in activities without hassle.
  3. Light, Breathable Clothing – Yoga festivals usually happen in the summer, so make sure you keep cool! Organic cotton is a great option for all your yoga wear as it’s breathable and comfortable. Look for loose-fitting tops, tank tops, and flowy pants that allow for easy movement.
  4. Fun Prints and Colors – Festivals are a time to express yourself, so don’t shy away from bold prints and vibrant colors. Wearing fun and eye-catching yoga wear can add to the festive vibe and make you feel more immersed in the experience.
  5. Comfortable Sandals/Slip-On Shoes – You’ll likely be barefoot during yoga sessions. But, you’ll need comfortable footwear for walking around the festival grounds. Opt for sandals or slip-on shoes that are easy to put on and take off.
  6. Sports Bra – For women, a good sports bra that provides ample support is essential, especially for more active yoga sessions! Choose one that is comfortable and matches your yoga tops.
  7. Layers – Bring a lightweight long-sleeve shirt, hoodie, or wrap for cooler weather or indoor sessions. Layers can help you stay comfortable if the temperature changes. Consider packing a light jacket or sweater for early mornings and evenings.
  8. Sun Protection – If the festival is outdoors, you’ll need to protect yourself from the sun. Pack a wide-brimmed hat, sunglasses, and plenty of sunscreen to avoid sunburn and stay comfortable throughout the day.
  9. Yoga Accessories – While not clothing, don’t forget your essential yoga accessories. Bring your own yoga mat, a reusable water bottle, and a small towel. Some people also like to have a yoga strap or blocks if the festival includes more advanced sessions.
  10. Weather Considerations – Check the weather forecast and be prepared for rain or shine. A light rain jacket or poncho is great for potential rain, and a small umbrella might also come in handy.
